Since winning the prestigious 2021 Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw, Bruce Liu has dazzled audiences at sold-out venues around the world. The extraordinarily gifted pianist demonstrates a penetrating insight and maturity well beyond his years and brings a joyous freshness and spontaneity to his revelatory performances often described as “elegant and breathtaking”.
For his Abu Dhabi Festival debut recital, he presents a thrilling programme that astounds and captivates with its breath-taking technical complexity. Capturing with skillful grace the drama of Mozart’s Don Giovanni opera in a short yet intense piano piece, Liu opens his recital with a selection of elegant yet vivid character pieces by Rameau, and the delicacy and tenderness of Chopin’s own witty reimagining’s of a Mozart aria and concludes with a masterful performance of the opera fantasy, Réminiscences de Don Juan by Liszt.
