Traversing the globe in 13 compositions played by 128 musicians in 20 countries, Hekayat captures the musical traditions and cultures of every continent. Fusing genres such as hip-hop, western classical music and Khaleeji rhythms, it is a celebration of global sounds with renowned international musicians including American flautist Sara Andon, Japanese drumming troupe Kodō, Spanish guitarist Carlos Piñana, Syrian clarinet player Kinan Azmeh, Poland’s Beethoven Academy Orchestra and the Vox Chamber Choir. Hekayat narrates 13 stories, ranging from a composition about the sea and Emirati pearl divers to the accomplishment of reaching Mars.
